Terms of Service
These terms are the agreement between you and Corkboard Club. Please read them before you play or buy a case. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the service.
Who we are
Corkboard Club is run by Gornostaev Konstantin, a sole proprietor (individual entrepreneur). In these terms, “we”, “us” and “Corkboard Club” mean Gornostaev Konstantin. “The service” means our website, your account, the websites we run for the game, and the game itself on your TV and phones.
You can reach us at [email protected].
The service
Corkboard Club is a detective game for a group of 2–5 players. One screen, usually your TV, becomes the case board, and every player works the case on their own phone in a web browser. There's no app to install.
To play, you need a TV or computer with a modern web browser, a phone for each player and an internet connection. Cases also send you to services run by others, such as Google Maps. Their own terms apply when you use them.
Buying a case
Some cases let your group play Act I for free. A full case costs $25 per group, unless checkout shows a different price. One purchase covers everyone at the table: guests join free by scanning a QR code.
The price you see is the price you pay: US sales tax is already included. Prices are in US dollars, and for now we sell only in the United States.
Our order process is run by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle is the Merchant of Record for all our orders: it takes the payment, charges the sales tax and sends your receipt. When you buy, you also agree to the Paddle Buyer Terms. You can look up an order and your receipt at paddle.net.
A purchase opens that case for your group: Act I, Act II and the ending. Nothing ticks until you press Start. From your first evening you have 7 days to finish, and you can pause and come back another night. After the 7 days, or 7 days after you solve the case, its websites close.
If your group plays Act I for free and wants to go on, anyone at the table can pay for Act II from their phone at the break. The case then appears in that person's account.
Refunds follow our Refund Policy.
Codes, gifts and discounts
An access code or a gift opens one specific case or act. Codes have no cash value, can't be exchanged for money and are not a balance or a gift card. A discount code applies at checkout, under the conditions shown with it, until the date shown.
Your account
You can start without signing up: we keep your cases in this browser as an anonymous account. Save your account with your email, Apple or Google to keep your cases on any device. If you clear your browser data before you save your account, we may not be able to bring your cases back.
Keep your email and sign-in methods safe. You're responsible for what happens under your account.
Age
Corkboard Club is not meant for children under 13. Children under 13 must not create an account, buy a case or join a game from their own device.
To buy a case you must be an adult where you live. Teens aged 13 to 17 may join a game and save an account only with the permission of a parent or guardian, who accepts these terms for them.
Playing fair
Please use Corkboard Club to have a good evening with your group. Don't:
- share or sell access to a case outside your group, or publish its texts, images, voices or solution;
- try to break, overload, copy or get around the game, its limits, payments or security;
- use bots or other automated tools to play, guess codes or create accounts;
- type or upload anything illegal, hateful or harassing, or photos of people who haven't agreed;
- contact, visit or bother real people, places or businesses because of something in a case.
We may limit or close access for anyone who breaks these rules.
Cases, AI images and voices
Every case is a work of fiction; any resemblance to real people or events is coincidental. A case may be set in a real city and use real maps.
Photographs and voices in our cases are created with AI.
Cases take place on websites we run for the game. They are part of the service and these terms apply to them. See our list of domains we operate.
What you type and upload
What you type in the game, such as player names, searches and form entries, and the photo you may upload at the end of a case, stay yours. You let us store and use them to run the game for your group, keep the service safe and make our cases better, as our Privacy Policy describes.
Our rights
Corkboard Club, our cases, websites, texts, images, voices and software belong to us or to those who license them to us. We give you a personal, non-transferable right to play the cases you have access to with your group, for non-commercial use. All other rights are reserved.
Changes to the service
We keep improving the game and may update cases, features and the website to fix problems or make them better.
No warranties
We work hard to make every evening run smoothly, but the service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
We don't promise that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will work on every TV, phone, browser or network.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill.
To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim about the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Some states don't allow some of these limits, so they may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under consumer protection law that can't be waived.
Stopping
You can stop using Corkboard Club at any time. You can delete your data from your account, or by writing to [email protected].
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll post the new version on this page with a new date, and tell you about important changes on the site or by email before they take effect. If you keep using the service after that, the new terms apply.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law that applies to them. If something goes wrong, please write to [email protected] first, and we'll try to resolve it with you informally.
